Meow for Meals Program
A part of our mission is to make a difference. We are committed to transparency to our customers and, so every year, we generate a report on how much we raised for the charities we support. We don’t want our business to just revolve around selling stuff to customers; it is important to connect with the community and give back.
OUR Meow for Meals PROGRAM（MMP）. WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Here at TalkMeow, we believe that every cat deserves a forever home, and our mission is to help these amazing felines in any way we can. To give back to our feline community, we work closely with our shelter partners by fostering cats from our office, donating essential supplies and enrichment toys, and sponsoring community cat adoption events – all to help the cats who need it most!
Pierre, the co-founder of TalkMeow helped design the Making a Meow for Meals Program when we started our business journey. He decided that 5% of our annual earnings should be given as a yearly lump-sum donation to the charities and organizations we support.
Here are some charities and organizations we support:
SPCA Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
Petfinder is an online, searchable database of animals who need homes. It is also a directory of nearly 11,000 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Organizations maintain their own home pages and available-pet databases.
Chatopia (Formerly Animal Adoption Montreal) is a registered charitable organization based in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). The Chatopia team is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming purebred cats in need. Working together with other likeminded organizations (animal welfare agencies, shelters, animal controls and vets), Chatopia strives to provide all the welfare needs of purebred cats.
The nØkill Network also strives to promote the no-kill model so that shelters that do not currently have a no-kill policy might take the initiative needed to gain the public, governmental, and financial support necessary to become a no-kill organization. Shelters that historically euthanized healthy, adoptable animals have been able to make this change – it is possible and we hope that this community can help to provide the ideas, education, and support necessary to make it happen for the rest of the shelters throughout the nation. Please join the community to learn, participate, and support the mission!
Adopt-a-Pet.com (formerly 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com) is North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption website. We help over 17,000 animal shelters, humane societies, SPCAs, pet rescue groups, and pet adoption agencies advertise their homeless pets to millions of adopters a month, for free. We’re all about getting homeless pets into homes.
